Everything you need to know about planning events, inviting guests, and managing RSVPs with EventRight.
Getting started
What EventRight is and how the basics work.
What is EventRight?
EventRight is an event planning and RSVP platform for weddings, baby showers, parties, and other celebrations. You create a beautiful event page, build a guest list, send invites by SMS or email, and track RSVPs in real time — all from one dashboard.
Who is EventRight for?
EventRight is built for hosts and organizers who want a simple, professional way to invite guests and collect RSVPs. Guests only need the link you send them — they do not need an account.
Do guests need to create an account?
No. Guests open your event link, enter the phone or email their invite was sent to, and RSVP. Only organizers need an EventRight account.
What kinds of events can I plan?
Weddings, baby showers, birthdays, graduations, reunions, and other personal celebrations. You can customize your page template, colors, and messaging to match your event.
How long does setup take?
Most organizers can create an event, choose a plan, design a page, and add guests within an hour. Your dashboard includes a step-by-step checklist so you always know what to do next.
Accounts & sign-up
Creating an account, logging in, and access.
How do I create an account?
Visit eventright.com/signup, enter your name, email, and password, and agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy. If invite-only mode is enabled, you will also need a valid invite code from the site administrator or another user.
Why do I need an invite code to sign up?
During early access, registration may be invite-only to manage growth and support quality. If you received an invite code, enter it at signup. If you need access, contact the person who told you about EventRight or reach out through the site.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Go to the Forgot password page, enter your email, and we will send a secure reset link valid for one hour. If you do not see the email, check spam or request another link (limited to three per hour).
Can I manage multiple events on one account?
Yes. One organizer account can create and manage many events. Each event is purchased and configured separately.
How do I delete my account?
Contact us with the email on your account if you need it removed. Deleting an organizer account removes your events, guest data, and sessions. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
Plans & pricing
One-time purchases, limits, and add-ons.
Is EventRight a subscription?
No. EventRight uses one-time purchases per event. You pay once when you are ready to launch that event — there is no monthly subscription.
What plans are available?
Free ($0): up to 10 guests, email invites only, page active 15 days — upgrade anytime. Starter ($5): up to 75 guests, email only, page active 3 months. Standard ($15): up to 200 guests, 1 invite + 1 reminder (up to ~400 SMS), page active 6 months. Premium ($29): up to 400 guests, 1 invite + 1 reminder (up to ~800 SMS), page active 12 months. Need more texts on Standard/Premium? Add an SMS pack. All plans include a basic event page, guest list, email invites, and RSVP tracking.
When should I purchase a plan?
You can create an event for free and explore the dashboard first. Purchase a plan when you are ready to add guests beyond draft limits, publish your page, and send invites. Your checklist will guide you.
Can I buy more SMS messages?
Yes. Standard and Premium plans support SMS add-ons: Small — 500 SMS ($15), Medium — 1,500 SMS ($35), or Large — 3,000 SMS ($65). Starter is email-only. SMS credits are per event and do not roll over to other events.
Can I extend how long my event page stays active?
Yes. After you have an active plan, you can purchase duration extensions: 3 extra months ($5), 6 extra months ($10), or 12 extra months ($18). Extensions stack on top of your current expiration date.
Are email invites really included?
Yes. Email invites are included on every plan. SMS is limited by plan due to carrier costs, but you can send email invites and follow-ups without a separate email quota.
Can I upgrade my plan after purchasing?
Yes. Open your event, go to the plan page, and choose a higher tier. You pay the difference through checkout for that event.
Do you offer refunds?
Event plans are one-time digital purchases. Refund eligibility depends on your situation and our Terms of Service. Contact support promptly if something went wrong with a purchase.
Creating & managing events
Drafts, publishing, editing, and deleting.
How do I create a new event?
From your dashboard, click New Event, enter your event name, type, date, and time (location is optional), then create. You land on a checklist: choose a plan, design your page, review full event settings, publish, and send invites.
What is the difference between Draft and Published?
A draft event is only visible to you (preview mode). A published event is live at your public RSVP link so guests can view details and RSVP. You must publish before sending invites.
Can I edit my event after publishing?
Yes. Title, date, time, location, description, RSVP settings, and page design can all be updated anytime. Your public link stays the same. After publishing, you can optionally notify guests who already RSVPed about important changes via SMS (uses SMS credits).
Can I set an RSVP deadline?
Yes. Set an RSVP deadline when creating or editing your event. After the deadline passes, new guests cannot submit RSVPs on your public page. Existing RSVPs remain in your dashboard.
Can I temporarily turn off my event page?
Yes. From your event dashboard you can temporarily disable the public page. Guests will see a message that the page is unavailable until you turn it back on.
Can I delete an event?
You can delete draft events that do not have a plan selected. Once a plan is selected, the Delete button stays visible but is disabled — contact support@eventright.com to request deletion of an event with a plan.
What happens when my event page expires?
When your plan's active period ends, the public RSVP page shows that the event is no longer active. You can purchase a duration extension to reactivate it, or guest data may be purged after expiry per our retention policy.
Guest lists & RSVPs
Adding guests, matching, and tracking responses.
How do I add guests?
Open your guest list and add guests one at a time or import a CSV. For each guest, provide a nickname or name plus a phone number and/or email. At least one contact method improves RSVP matching.
Can I import guests from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Use CSV import with columns for first name, last name, nickname, phone, and email. We normalize phone numbers and emails automatically for reliable matching.
What are the RSVP modes?
My Guest List Only: guests must match someone on your list to RSVP. Open with Limit: anyone with the link can RSVP until you reach your plan's guest limit. Choose the mode that fits your event when creating or editing the event.
How does smart RSVP matching work?
When a guest enters their name and phone or email, we match against your guest list. Strong matches (exact phone, email, or full name) are accepted immediately. Partial matches may need your approval before the display name is finalized.
What does a yellow match mean on my guest list?
A yellow indicator means we found a partial match — for example, the phone matches but the last name differs. Review the entry and approve the match to lock in the guest's display name.
What happens if I reach my guest limit?
You cannot add more guests until you upgrade your event plan to a higher tier. Open RSVP mode events also stop accepting new RSVPs at the plan limit.
Can I remove a guest from my list?
Yes. From your guest list you can delete individual guests or edit their details. Removing a guest clears their invite and RSVP data from that event.
What RSVP statuses can guests choose?
Guests can respond Attending, Declined, or Maybe (when enabled). You see real-time counts and individual responses on your dashboard and guest list.
Invites (SMS & email)
Sending and resending invitations.
How do I send invites?
Publish your event first, then open Send Invites. Compose your message (use {link} for the RSVP URL and {event} for the event name), choose Smart send, SMS only, or Email only, and send. Smart send picks the best channel per guest based on their contact info and your plan.
How do SMS credits work?
Each SMS uses one credit per guest who receives a text. Starter is email-only. Standard includes about 400 SMS (1 invite + 1 reminder to a full list of up to 200); Premium includes about 800 SMS (same 1 invite + 1 reminder for up to 400 guests). Buy an SMS pack if you need more. Email blasts do not use SMS credits.
Can I resend an invite to one guest?
Yes. From your guest list, use Resend Invite / Message on any guest to send a personal SMS or email with your custom message.
Can I send updates after the initial invite?
Yes. After your first invite blast, the invites page switches to update mode. Send venue changes, schedule updates, or reminders to all guests or only those who have already RSVPed.
A guest did not receive their invite. What should I check?
Confirm their phone number or email on your guest list, resend individually, and ask them to check spam for emails. SMS delivery depends on carriers and recipient devices — we cannot guarantee every message arrives.
Do I need permission to text guests?
Yes. Before adding a phone number, you must have permission to text each guest about your event only — RSVP invites and event updates, not unrelated marketing. EventRight shows consent language when you add guests individually or import a CSV. See our SMS Terms of Use at eventright.com/sms-terms-of-use for organizer obligations, message frequency, and help options.
How do guests opt out of SMS messages?
Guests can reply STOP to any EventRight text at any time. We also honor standard opt-out keywords such as UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT. To receive texts again, they can reply START, UNSTOP, or RESUME. Opted-out numbers are stored so we do not message them again. Full details are in our SMS Terms of Use at eventright.com/sms-terms-of-use.
Event pages & customization
Templates, design, registry links, and sharing.
How do I customize my event page?
Open Design Page from your event checklist. Pick a template, adjust colors, fonts, images, spacing, and your welcome message. Changes preview live before you publish.
Can I use custom HTML or CSS?
Event pages are template-based for consistency and mobile-friendly design. You can personalize templates with your colors, fonts, photos, and wording — but not raw HTML/CSS.
Can I add registry or payment links?
Yes. Add Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Amazon, Target, or other links from the Registry tab. A legal disclaimer is shown on your public page — EventRight does not process payments or verify third-party links.
How do I share my RSVP link?
After publishing, copy your RSVP link from the event dashboard or show the QR code for guests to scan. The link format is eventright.com/e/your-event-slug and stays the same even if you edit event details.
Is there a QR code for my event?
Yes. On your event dashboard, click Show QR Code next to your RSVP link. Guests can scan it to open your page — handy for printed materials or sharing in person.
Can guests see who else is attending?
Only if you enable the public RSVP list in your event settings. You can show attending guests only or include other response types, depending on your preference.
Plus-ones & RSVP settings
Policies and per-guest controls.
What plus-one options are available?
No plus-ones: guests RSVP for themselves only. All guests or Selected guests: those guests can bring plus-ones. You set a max per guest (default 1) or Unlimited, optionally require names for each plus-one, and can show a “No kids” notice on the public page.
Do plus-ones need their own invite?
No separate invite is required. The primary guest adds plus-ones during RSVP (within your limit). If you require names, they enter each name. Plus-ones appear on your smart guest list and count toward attending headcount.
Mobile companion app
The read-only iPhone app for organizers.
What does the mobile app do?
The EventRight iPhone app lets organizers view their events, see RSVP progress, and receive push notifications at milestones (25%, 50%, 75%, 90%, and 100% of responses). It is read-only — you create and manage events on the website.
Do I use the same login on mobile?
Yes. Sign in with the same email and password as the website. Your event list and stats sync from your account.
When do push notifications arrive?
You receive a notification when your event hits each RSVP milestone — for example, "50% RSVPs received!" Tap the notification to open that event in the app.
Privacy, data & security
How we handle your information.
Where is my data stored?
Event and account data is stored in secure cloud databases. Payment card details are handled by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers.
How long is guest data kept?
Guest information is retained while your event page is active. After your page expires, guest personal data may be automatically purged per our retention policy. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I exercise my California privacy rights?
California residents can submit access, deletion, and opt-out requests as described in our Privacy Policy at eventright.com/privacy#ccpa.
Does EventRight use cookies?
We use essential cookies for sign-in and consent preferences. Optional analytics cookies are only used if you accept all cookies in our cookie banner.
Troubleshooting
Common issues and quick fixes.
A guest cannot RSVP — what should they try?
Ask them to use the exact phone or email their invite was sent to. If your event uses guest-list-only mode, they must match the list. If the RSVP deadline passed or the page expired, they will need an updated link from you.
The event link says the page is no longer active.
The event may be unpublished, expired, temporarily disabled, or deleted. Contact the host who invited you for a current link.
Why can't I publish my event?
Publishing requires an active event plan and that your page has not expired. Complete the Choose Plan step on your checklist first.
Why can't I send SMS invites?
Starter plans are email-only. Standard and Premium require available SMS credits. If credits are exhausted, purchase an SMS add-on or send email invites instead. Global SMS may also be disabled by the site administrator.
Checkout failed or my plan did not activate.
Wait a few minutes and refresh your event plan page. If payment succeeded but the plan is missing, contact support with your event name and payment confirmation. In manual approval mode, an admin must grant your plan after checkout.
How do I get help?
Review this FAQ and our Terms and Privacy pages first. For account or billing issues, contact support through the email listed on our website. Include your event name and a description of the problem.
